House of the People of the Sun
Working together, volunteers from the United States and professors from Inti held an action packed day for the children, which included a tour of the famous Sacred Valley and the first Inti Olympic Games. Beginning at 8 am, we visited the market, ruins, and church in Chinchero to Ollantaytambo where the children saw additional markets and ruins. The children have already used the crafts as inspiration in creating additional crafts at Inti.
We finished off the day with the first Inti Olympic Games in Urumbamba. Six teams participated in 6 different games including a ball on a spoon relay, potato sack relay, water sponge relay, bobbing for apples, water balloon toss and tug of war. The day ended with a chicken dinner and an awards presentation.
